- Ensure mechanical designs and related documentation comply with applicable safety, environmental, quality, and company requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of mechanical design standards, workmanship expectations, supplier instructions, and mechanical build practices.
- Support change management activities by assessing mechanical impact, updating documentation, and coordinating implementation on affected platforms or assemblies.
- Support junior or less experienced engineers through technical mentoring, design review input, and knowledge sharing when required.
- Maintain clear handshakes with task owners to ensure responsibilities, deliverables, technical risks, and open issues are understood and followed through.
Functional Knowledge
- Expert understanding of mechanical engineering principles, mechanical design, and electromechanical integrated systems.
- Expert proficiency in CAD tools and 3D design programs such as SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, assembly processes, mechanical fabrication methods, and supplier manufacturing capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of design for manufacturability, design for assembly, tolerance management, material selection, mechanical documentation standards, and design verification practices.
- Strong understanding of system interfaces, platform-level integration, mechanical risk management, reliability considerations, and practical serviceability requirements.
- Familiarity with valves, tubing, welded structures, machined parts, sheet metal, frames, panels, brackets, fixtures, vacuum systems, and fluid handling systems is preferred.
