Job summary

As a Shopfloor Programmer Specialist you will take the task includes setting up, programming and / or program optimization and operation of CNC processing machines / centers (usually single-part production, new parts, no repeat production).

Key Responsibilities

• Programming

• Define and establish the technical requirements and conditions necessary for CNC programming and machining of complex geometric components.
• Analyze technical drawings, 3D models, and engineering requirements to determine the most appropriate machining methods.
• Create and prepare geometric data for complex components based on engineering drawings and product documentation.
• Develop manufacturing processes, operation sequences, and optimal machining strategies for each component.
• Plan and manage the use of cutting tools, fixtures, and other resources required for machining operations.
• Determine cutting parameters, toolpath strategies, and process settings to ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Create, modify, and optimize CNC machining programs for various control systems using shop-floor programming languages.
• Perform simulation, verification, and validation of CNC programs prior to production to minimize collision risks and machining errors.
• Optimize machining programs to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.

• Setting Up

• Set up and prepare machines, equipment, and machining systems according to production requirements.
• Install and calibrate cutting tools, fixtures, clamping devices, and related accessories.
• Establish coordinate systems, reference points, tool offsets, and operating parameters in accordance with machining program requirements.
• Conduct trial runs of machining programs, verify process stability, and make adjustments as necessary.
• Confirm the production readiness of machines and equipment before commencing operations.
• Coordinate with the maintenance and production departments to ensure machines operate reliably and meet all technical requirements.

• Lead, Operating, Load

• Perform setup, clamping, and machining operations in accordance with established manufacturing processes and technical requirements.
• Monitor and control machining operations to ensure product quality and production schedules are achieved.
• Evaluate machining results and carry out program optimization when necessary.
• Monitor machine performance and recommend solutions to improve productivity and manufacturing efficiency.
• Identify, analyze, and troubleshooting issues arising during machining operations.
• Coordinate with technical specialists or relevant departments to resolve issues beyond the scope of responsibility.
• Support the training and guidance of machine operators on machining procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality departments to ensure production targets and operational efficiency are achieved.

• Inspection and Control

• Perform dimensional inspections, geometric tolerance verification, surface quality checks, and other technical requirement assessments on machined components using appropriate measuring equipment in accordance with engineering drawings.
• Replace and calibrate cutting tools as necessary to ensure machining accuracy.
• Input and adjust tool offset values and correction parameters in accordance with established procedures and in coordination with the responsible personnel.
• Analyze inspection results, identify the root causes of deviations, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Monitor the stability of machining processes and recommend preventive measures to minimize defects and process variations.

• Continuous Improvement & Quality Development

• Analyze critical issues related to quality, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Propose, implement, and monitor corrective actions to eliminate root causes of defects and minimize waste.
• Conduct root cause analysis for technical and quality issues arising during production.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing machining processes, reducing cycle times, and enhancing equipment performance.
• Recommend improvements in machining technology, programming strategies, cutting tools, and machine setup methods.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to standardize processes and improve product quality.
• Monitor the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and promote continuous quality development throughout manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in similar positions

• CNC Programming and Process Optimization

• Develop and modify CNC programs according to technical requirements.
• Select appropriate cutting parameters and machining strategies.
• Optimize machining programs to improve productivity and quality.

• Machine Setup and Operation

• Set up machines, cutting tools, and fixtures according to procedures.
• Configure operating parameters and coordinate systems accurately.
• Monitor machining processes to ensure stable operation.

• Quality Control and Technical Analysis

• Interpret engineering drawings and product technical requirements.
• Perform measurements, inspections, and evaluate machining results.
• Analyze the causes of deviations and propose corrective actions.

• Demonstrate proficiency in CAD/CAM and CNC software.
• Effectively utilize technical tools and engineering resources.
