SUMMARY

 

The Demand & Inventory Planner facilitates material planning and inventory management for strategic analysis and execution of current and future fulfillment plans. This person will also determine optimized inventory levels across the company to fulfill customer requirements and meet on time delivery targets.

Duties

 

  1. Works proactively with functional teams; sales, engineering, service, production, inventory, purchasing and warehouses to identify variances for current and future demands.
  2. Set & maintain inventory targets for optimum service levels for finished goods, customer consignment and service centers.
  3. Communicates conflicts and potential shortages and works with various departments to minimize impact to customers and process efficiencies
  4. Monthly review of safety stock or reorder point levels and provide proposal and execute upon approval. Use historical performance and future requirements to evaluate and identify items where stocking levels require adjustments.
  5. Create strategy for storage and distribution of parts for re-manufacturing, distribution and sale
  6. Update and maintain safety stocks/ re-order points in SAP system.
  7. Monthly Reporting for Inventory for all sites using ERP or designated Tool, such as Power BI, etc.
  8. Maintain inventory targets by reviewing & actioning on excess stock, slow moving and obsolete items through collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams.
  9. Understanding purchasing process and generate reports to make informed and appropriate inventory decisions.
  10. Gathering master data and identifying potential misalignments that generate shortages.
  11. Identify opportunities for product rebalancing between sites.
  12. Define requirements & setup process to measure inventory turns.
  13. Train cross functional departments on inventory plans and material flow
  14. Analyze data and problem-solve using tools such as excel macro or Power BI.
  15. Other duties as required.

Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, Power BI and data-entry and data extract via ERP system), attention to detail and accuracy. Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering or related fields.
  • 5 or more years of experience in supply chain, planning, product management, demand planning, inventory planning or related fields.
  • SAP knowledge preferred.

 

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Valid driver's license must be maintained throughout employment at an acceptable level meeting Busch's insurance standards
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification: Preferred
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CPIM or CSCP): Preferred (or enrolled to obtain)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

Reasoning Ability

Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practices is required. Normally receives general instruction for routine work, detailed instruction on new assignments.

 

TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT

 

This position uses a computer extensively with demonstrated abilities in the use of Microsoft products as well as other common office type equipment.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

This position may work in various environments including office, factory or home settings. Employees who are authorized to work from home are expected to comply with all company requirements for core work hours or in-person attendance at company meetings or events.
