Job Summary

As a Mechanical Engineer – Valve, you will be responsible for mechanical design and design data for valves, weldments and components; defining BOMs and routers; providing assembly technical support; and coordinating with US team on design, quotation and production activities.

Key Responsibilities

    • Mechanical design & design data
      • Develop and maintain SolidWorks part, assembly, and drawing models for valves, weldments, and components following ANSI/ISO standards.
      • Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, and knowledge of welding, machining in design activities.
    • BOM, router & production support
      • Define BOMs and routers for valves, weldments, and components.
      • Provide assembly technical support and customize routers to fit the Vietnam production flow.
      • Use US master BOMs and baseline standard routers as the reference, and make the necessary adjustments for the Vietnam production flow.
    • Cross-site coordination & technical support
      • Track on-site design issues and provide support for technical queries related to valve products.
      • Coordinate with US, engineering, production, and relevant teams to ensure design information and production requirements are communicated accurately.
      • Comply with the US–Vietnam data governance model: US is the data source and owner of SAP valve master.
      • Data and standard BOMs; Vietnam receives and uses the data and standard BOMs provided by US, while customizing routers to suit the local manufacturing process.
    • Project lifecycle tracking
      • Track quoting and production progress across project lifecycles.
      • Maintain and use engineering design files on the centralized cloud server according to the US–Vietnam data governance requirements.

Qualifications

      • Associate’s degree in mechanical design, mechanical engineering, or a related field; 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development
      • Proficient in technical English.
      • Proficient in SolidWorks for parts, assemblies, and drawings; able to apply ANSI/ISO standards.
      • Knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5, tolerance analysis, welding, machining, and post-processing.
      • Knowledge of BOM, router and engineering design data for valve products.
      • Having additional knowledge and experience in machining is an advantage.
      • Coordinate effectively with US-Vietnam, engineering, production, and relevant teams to support schedule and data accuracy.
      • Experience or familiarity with valve products and valve manufacturing environments is an advantage.
      • Able to work with centralized engineering design data on the cloud server and follow organizational data governance requirements.
