Job summary

E2E has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing team. We are a semiconductor manufacturing equipment supplier for cutting-edge AI technology with a strong commitment to quality, reliability, and operational excellence.

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for mechanical design, product development support, supplier coordination, and manufacturing integration of complex electromechanical platforms. The role supports all relevant product stages from concept and design through prototyping, manufacturing, installation, testing, and final commissioning.

This position requires strong mechanical engineering capability, practical design judgment, structured documentation, and close collaboration with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, suppliers, and customers. The ideal candidate is technically strong, hands-on when required, fluent in English, and able to translate mechanical design requirements into manufacturable and serviceable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain mechanical designs for platforms, subsystems, modules, fixtures, and related assemblies.
  • Perform full lifecycle mechanical engineering activities including design, development, prototype support, manufacturing support, implementation, installation, and commissioning support.
  • Create, review, and update mechanical drawings, 3D models, design specifications, technical reports, build  documentation, and operational manuals.
  • Support design for manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, quality, and reliability of mechanical systems.
  • Conduct or support design reviews, technical risk reviews, tolerance checks, and mechanical feasibility assessments.
  • Support computer simulations, calculations, and practical evaluations to verify and improve mechanical designs where applicable.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, and suppliers to align design intent, material requirements, build execution, and quality expectations.
  • Support prototype build, platform integration, and final assembly activities by resolving mechanical design or fitment issues.
  • Support supplier communication on mechanical parts, fabricated components, weldments, tubing, valves, frames, panels, fixtures, and other mechanical deliverables.
  • Review supplier feedback, nonconformities, rework needs, and improvement opportunities related to mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Support first article inspections, incoming inspections, and technical acceptance of mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Ensure mechanical designs and related documentation comply with applicable safety, environmental, quality, and company requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of mechanical design standards, workmanship expectations, and mechanical build practices.
  • Support change management activities by assessing mechanical impact, updating documentation, and coordinating implementation on affected platforms or assemblies.

Functional Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, mechanical design, and electromechanical integrated systems.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD tools and 3D design programs such as SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations, assembly processes, mechanical fabrication methods, and supplier manufacturing capabilities.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability, design for assembly, tolerance management, material selection, and mechanical documentation standards.
  • Familiarity with valves, tubing, welded structures, machined parts, sheet metal, frames, panels, brackets, and fixtures is preferred.

Project Management

  • Supports mechanical engineering tasks within project timelines and defined deliverables.
  • Plans and tracks assigned design, documentation, supplier, and integration activities.
  • Coordinates mechanical open items with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support schedule adherence.
  • Communicates status, risks, and blockers clearly to the responsible project or engineering owner.

Leadership

  • Provides technical guidance on mechanical design topics within assigned scope.
  • Supports decision-making by presenting clear technical facts, risks, options, and recommendations.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to analyze complex situations and make informed choices.
  • Takes ownership of assigned mechanical deliverables and drives them to closure without requiring constant follow-up.
  • Provides leadership in driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes and efficiency.

Problem Solving and Strategic Thinking

  • Solves mechanical design, fitment, integration, and manufacturability issues using structured analysis and practical engineering judgment.
  • Analytical thinking applies to improve mechanical reliability, assembly efficiency, cost, and serviceability.
  • Identifies recurring mechanical issues and proposes improvements to design rules, supplier instructions, and build practices.

Change Management

  • Supports mechanical change requests, design updates, and implementation of approved engineering changes.
  • Assesses the impact of mechanical changes on drawings, BOMs, suppliers, manufacturing, integration, testing, and serviceability.
  • Maintains updated documentation to ensure mechanical changes are controlled and traceable.

Influence

  • Works collaboratively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, suppliers, and customers to align mechanical solutions with business and project objectives.
  • Influences practical build outcomes by translating design requirements into clear supplier and manufacturing expectations.

Interpersonal Skills
