SUMMARY
The Service Technician is responsible for maintaining customer relationships through open communication and support of Pfeiffer Vacuum equipment, integrated products and solutions.

Duties:
- Primarily contribute to the after-sales support of air leak detection equipment including repair, maintenance, failure analysis and inquiries to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Support of Custom Engineered Vacuum Systems (CEVS).
- Work with cross-functional teams to support all customer requests.
- Occasional travel to customer locations for support of onsite requests.
- Support requests for service quotes.
- Responsible for completion of in-house service jobs.
- Support service month end closing activities.
- Generate and track calibration certificates, data and documents.
- Maintain ISO metrics, service reporting, and customer feedback.
- Communicate effectively with other departments and customers in a timely manner to ensure satisfactory customer support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, and occasional lifting. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and move intermittently throughout the day. Ability to lift 50-70 lbs. Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, presentations and data-entry), attention to detail and accuracy. Communication skills including listening and speaking are required for interaction with other employees, vendors, and customers. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to balance multiple tasks and any stress associated with the duties and responsibilities of this position are essential requirements in the performance of this job. Secondary duties with added requirements may be assigned from time to time.

General Qualifications:
Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently, extreme attention to detail, and creative problem solving are required. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to work under tight and frequently changing deadlines in a dynamic business environment is necessary. Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills as well as good planning and technical equipment troubleshooting skills required.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate’s degree, preferably in Mechanical discipline or demonstrated mechanical aptitude and success in mechanical problem solving and understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles.
- 1-3 years experience in calibration, quality control or related field
- Hands-on experience in service work and maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software experience is preferred.
- Must be willing to travel up to 35%. May be required to travel internationally to provide global support/training of all Busch Group products.
Language Skills
The ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing is essential. Reports, email correspondence, schedules; are all typical requirements of this position and must be effectively and professionally communicated.
Mathematical Skills
Strong math skills preferred.
Reasoning Ability
Must be able to multitask and operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a disciplined approach to oversee all process related needs. The ability to understand the company’s needs and requirements is essential. Must be able to solve both practical and complex problems and deal with a variety of factors in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are required at the time of hire and periodically thereafter.
TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT
This position uses a computer extensively with demonstrated abilities in the use of an ERP system and Microsoft Office products.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position will work both in an office & lab environment at various facilities throughout the organization.
