Job Summary

The Cost Estimator Specialist is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates and quotations for valves assembly, valve components, hardware products by reviewing customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements. You will analyze manufacturing processes, materials, and routing options to identify cost-effective solutions that improve lead times and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

    • Cost estimation & quotation
      • Perform cost estimating functions and technical support for valves assembly, valve components, hardware products and modifications of catalog.
      • Review blueprints, plans, and other customer documents to develop and prepare quotations.
      • Utilize company software to develop costs, product structure, and routings. Create Material Master, maintain information on SAP make sure it’s full fill information and correctly.
      • Understand statement of work provided by the customer and ensure quote abides by these specifications.
    • Cost analysis, manufacturing & cost optimization
      • Propose manufacturing process, material size, and/or outside process to reduce cost and improve lead time.
      • Work with potential/current suppliers to explore cost reduction and improve the capability.
      • Cost analysis, reconciliation of estimated cost to actual cost.
    • Technical & cross-functional support.
      • Work directly with engineering, planning, production, sales, and finance to adapt customer request and internal depatments.
      • Develop technical documentation as needed in support of catalog, web, and technical manual publications.

Qualifications

    • Technical analysis & cost estimation competencies
      • Read and interpret blueprints and technical documents – Analyze drawings, customer requirements, Statements of Work (SOW), and technical specifications to determine the complete scope of work required for quotation.
      • Cost estimation and cost analysis – Develop costs for materials, labor, machining, assembly, outside processing, and other related expenses to ensure accurate cost estimates.
      • Manufacturing process analysis – Determine appropriate manufacturing/machining processes, material sizes, routings, and required operations to produce the product.
      • Cost reconciliation and control – Compare estimated costs with actual costs, identify cost variances, and analyze the root causes of discrepancies.
      • Utilization of systems and engineering software – Proficiently use company software to develop Product Structures, Routings, Costing, and manage data required for quotation preparation.
    • Cost optimization & problem-solving competencies
      • Cost Optimization Mindset – Proactively identify cost reduction opportunities while maintaining product quality and technical requirements.
      • Manufacturing Process Optimization – Propose changes to processes, materials, raw material sizes, or machining operations to reduce costs and shorten Lead Time.
      • Supplier Evaluation and Development – Work with current and potential suppliers to identify cost reduction opportunities and improve supply capabilities.
      • Cost Variance Root Cause Analysis – Identify the causes of discrepancies between Actual Cost and Estimated Cost and propose actions to improve quotation accuracy.
      • Data-Driven Decision Making – Utilize cost data, production history, and technical information to select competitive and feasible quotation approaches.
    • Technical interpersonal & coordination competencies
      • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work effectively with Engineering, Planning, Production, Sales, and Finance to collect and validate information required for quotation preparation.
      • Technical Communication with Customers – Communicate, explain, and clarify technical requirements, scope of work, and customer specifications and conditions.
      • Product Technical Support – Provide customers with technical advice and support regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of components/products.
      • Technical Documentation – Prepare technical documents, product information, catalogs, website content, and technical manuals as required.
      • Quotation Request and Schedule Management – Proactively track quotation requests, coordinate with relevant stakeholders, and ensure quotations are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with customer requirements.
    • Additional Qualifications
      • Bachelor’s Degree required in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related Engineering field (Finance/ Accounting is preferred)
      • English communication is required.
      • 3+ years of experience as a Cost Estimator.
