Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is critical in bridging customer needs with engineering solutions. The successful candidate will work directly with customers in the semiconductor sector to understand technical requirements, lead product development efforts for components such as manifolds, welded tubing, and valves, and ensure cost-effective, fast-to-market, and high-quality prototypes

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical interface with semiconductor customers to gather and clarify product requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into detailed engineering specifications and project scopes.
  • Lead the design and development of new products including gas delivery systems, tube weldments, and ultra-high purity valves.
  • Drive cost optimization, rapid prototyping, and design for manufacturability principles.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams such as production, quality, procurement, and supply chain.
  • Support prototype builds and follows through to production readiness.
  • Provide technical documentation, including BOMs, drawings, and qualification reports.
  • Lead customer design reviews and provide technical presentations as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials, and process developments relevant to the semiconductor field.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product failures or customer complaints.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in engineering roles focused on manifolds, welded tubing, or valves, preferably in the semiconductor equipment industry.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor industry requirements, including UHP (Ultra High Purity) standards, orbital welding, and cleanroom manufacturing practices.
  • Proven track record in product development lifecycle – from concept to prototype to production.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and PDM/PLM systems.
  • Knowledge of materials and processes for stainless steel, Aluminum & Hastelloy welding and high-purity gas systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Customer-facing experience with the ability to build strong technical relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with international semiconductor OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Familiar with industry standards such as SEMI, ASME BPE, or equivalent.
  • Experience in DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and cost analysis tools.
  • Hands-on experience with welding qualification, helium leak testing, or cleanliness validation.
