Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer at our manufacturing plant in Virginia Beach, Virginia!
The Supplier Quality Engineer position is responsible for working as a liaison between the Quality and Purchasing departments to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate corrective action is implemented.

Job Responsibilities
- Maintains and update critical supplier audit schedule
- Conducts supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination and continuous improvement
- Monitors, communicates, and improves supply chain Key Performance Indicator’s, including supplier On Time Delivery, Parts Per Million and waste
- Establishes specific short/long-term supplier quality goals
- Works to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
- Works in conjunction with Purchasing Department to support Supplier Change Control processes (i.e., Production Part Approval Process, Cost reduction, design review)
- Assists manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following a defined new product development process
- Drives “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base
- Communicates engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier technical teams
- Travels to supplier locations to resolve quality problems Promotes safety awareness and provides safe work environment
- Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures while reporting all unsafe activities and concerns to the General Manager, safety officer, or human resources.
Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing: Required
- 3+ years of experience working with metal castings: Preferred
- Knowledge of various quality system methodologies (8D, Lean, 5 Why’s, DFMEA, PPAP, etc): Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Preferred
- Field of Study - Business or Technical: Preferred
- Microsoft Office – Advanced: Required
- ERP system software experience: Required
- Certified Quality Engineer: Preferred
- Valid Drivers’ License (must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards): Required

- Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English
Job Requirements
- Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
- Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
- Ability and willingness to travel (up to 20%) domestically and internationally
Physical Requirements
- Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
- Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
- All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
