Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for a Sourcing Buyer I at our manufacturing plant in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

 

The Sourcing Buyer I – Indirect Material and MRO position is responsible for purchasing a variety of types of Indirect Material & MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) parts, managing simple and complex purchase requests.

Job Responsibilities

  • Negotiate minor commercial issues with suppliers
  • Assist in quality and delivery improvement projects with North American suppliers.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding visits to the Busch facilities and visits to supplier facilities
  • Issues purchase orders as needed and maintains pricing in SAP system.
  • Follow Global Sourcing and Busch Manufacturing processes and procedures regarding above responsibilities and aids in the development of internal process improvements
  • Work independently or as a team, as necessary, to fulfill department and Busch goals and objectives.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining 5S and Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste as directed by Management.
  • Perform processes and procedures while maintaining measurable and productive output as defined by production goals.
  • Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures while reporting all unsafe activities and concerns to the supervisor, safety officer, or human resources.

 

 

Required Experience

  • 2 years of purchasing experience of a tactical nature in Indirect Material & MRO: Required
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Preferred
  • Computer Skills: Moderate to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and V-lookup functions) and Microsoft Word: Preferred
  • PowerPoint and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems experience: Preferred
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management): Preferred
  • Valid Drivers’ License (must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards): Required

Job Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE

 

Physical Requirements

  • Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
  • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
  • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
