Receptionist & Switchboard Operator

Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for a Receptionist/switchboard Operator at our headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

The Receptionist/Switchboard Operator acts as Receptionist and telephone attendant relaying incoming calls, handles incoming and outgoing faxes, greets and processes visitors, and processes accounting deposits. The Receptionist is also responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and well processed front desk.

Job Responsibilities

• Answers telephone and routes calls properly and promptly.
• Greets visitors; Fills out visitor badge, notifies person(s) being visited promptly and professionally.
• Scans open order files and maintains Customer Service Closed files.
• Advises of problems with the phone system or fax machine.
• Sorts and opens incoming mail accurately.
• Updates phone and fax lists and distributes.
• Assist Customer Service daily with folding of invoices.
• Ability to maintain a professional, clean, organized and well processed front desk.
• Responsible for assisting in the safety and security of front desk in regards to visitors.
• Scans and emails faxes directly to responsible parties.
• Assist Customer Service Department with office duties.

Required Experience

• 1+ years of experience in Customer Service/similar receptionist experience: Required
• Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Required
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

• Be detail, goal, and safety oriented
• Must be organized and maintain a clean and orderly workspace
• Must possess a positive attitude, be dependable, and trustworthy
• Work independently or as a team, as necessary, to fulfill department and Busch goals and objectives
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
• Willingness to travel domestically for training
• Valid Drivers’ License must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 5lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
• Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching outward and/or above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 20lbs
• All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
