Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for a Quality Technician I at our Regional Distribution Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia and Chesapeake, Virginia! 

 

The Quality Technician I position is responsible for performing incoming material inspections, audits, and calibration of gauges, in addition to maintaining/completing data entry, statistical analysis, and maintaining quality systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Defines and perform Incoming Materials inspection as required.
  • Defines and perform inspection on materials as required.
  • Inputs quality data into spreadsheets and programs.
  • Participates in group problem solving activities.
  • Performs calibrations on gauges and send out gauges as needed.
  • Conducts in-process audits, internal and external, as required.
  • Processes non-conforming material, including disposition.
  • Maintains general housekeeping standards.
  • Reports on-line performance and update chart/graph displays.
  • Work independently or as a team, as necessary, to fulfill department and Busch goals and objectives.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining 5S and Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste as directed by Management.
  • Perform processes and procedures while maintaining measurable and productive output as defined by production goals.
  • Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures while reporting all unsafe activities and concerns to the supervisor, safety officer, or human resources.

 

 

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment: Required
  • 5+ years of overall manufacturing experience in any area: Preferred
  • High School graduate or General Education Degree- Required
  • Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Word): Required
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system software experience: Preferred

  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English

 

Job Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
    • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE

 

Physical Requirements

  • Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
  • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
  • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
