The Mechanical Designer III position is responsible for providing technical support and services to other groups within the engineering department. General areas of service include but are not limited to mechanical design & drafting, system specification and production documentation.

Job Responsibilities
- Creates complex configurable part models typically containing dozens of unique features with complex geometry
- Creates advanced assembly models containing more than 1000 items total with 300 being unique and consisting of existing library parts along with newly developed parts
- Reviews, interprets and provides feedback on customer specifications mid-level vacuum systems
- Interprets hand sketches, Piping & Instrumentation Diagram/Drawing (P&ID) or marked up designs
- Reviews, interprets and provides feedback on customer specifications complex vacuum systems
- Creates P&ID's from limited verbal and written instructions
- Designs and develops layouts for complex vacuum systems
- Analyzes and understands various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternate constructions
- Defines and specify any component from limited verbal and written instructions, provide multiple options that includes information on ability to meet specifications and impacts for cost and lead time
- Prepares initial mechanical design and generates documentation for checking purposes to ensure customer specifications are met
- Provides assistance and training Mechanical Designers I, II and other Engineering department personnel as directed or requested, develops internal protocols and tools
- Utilizes software functionality to increase department efficiency
- Reviews peer's work for accuracy
- In conjunction with the Agile teams develop and/or promote technical solutions which support the business requirements within their area of expertise. They may be accountable for specific deliverables and profitability in relation to the development of a project, support or may lead the technical activity within their area of specialism
- Collaborates with shop mechanic leads to establish best methods or practices for building of systems
- Promotes safety awareness and provides safe work environment
- Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures while reporting all unsafe activities and concerns to the General Manager, safety officer, or human resources.
Required Experience
- 6+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting or related field: Required
- 2-4 years piping design experience: Required
- 6-8 years mechanical drafting experience: Required
- First-hand Knowledge of Industry standards, concepts, practices, and procedures. E.g., ASME, ANSI, NEMA: Required
- Bachelor’s degree (four-year college or technical school): Required
- Field of Study: Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field: Preferred
- Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Required
- Certifications and Licenses: Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP), Expert (CSWE), Professional Advanced Weldments (CSWPA-WD): Strongly Preferred
- Software Experience: SolidWorks 2015 or comparable 3D software, AutoCAD, Draftsight or comparable 2D software, Adobe Products
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Systems Applications and Products and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Valid Drivers’ License (must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards): Required

Job Requirements
- Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
- Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
- Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%) domestically and internationally
Physical Requirements
- Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
- Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
- All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
