Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for a Manufacturing Engineer at our manufacturing plant in Virginia Beach, Virginia!
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing our value stream, encompassing all aspects of part cleaning, coating, assembly, testing, and packaging operations. This position is responsible for driving the justification, acquisition, and seamless implementation of tools, fixtures, and other essential manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will conduct workflow and time standards analysis, develop detailed standard work instructions, and create precise routers for manufactured parts. A strong working knowledge of and related manufacturing processes is essential for success in this role.

Job Responsibilities
- Realizes development, implementation, and optimization of production technology for the production of new and existing Busch products.
- Uses CAD to design tooling and fixtures for assembly, rework, and work simplification.
- Participates in new machinery and equipment research and justification in conjunction with ME Manager.
- Creates and maintains factory shop floor layouts.
- Prepares cost estimates for machining, fabrication, and assembly of parts and complete assemblies.
- Performs process workflow, takt time, and ergonomic analysis on processes.
- Creates, revises, and maintains standardized work instructions for assembly, test, paint, and packaging.
- Documents changes to existing processes and equipment that improve performance and manufacturing costs.
- Manage and guide teams of internal and external personnel to execute projects to on-time completion
- Possesses a basic working knowledge of assembly and automation.
- Helps with problem troubleshooting in conjunction with assembly, machine shop, or maintenance.
- Performs cost reductions as required, especially related to process, tooling, and fixture improvement.
- Helps in troubleshooting pump performance issues related to design, manufacturing, or assembly.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kanban, and Kaizen.
- Promotes safety awareness and provides a safe work environment.
- Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures while reporting all unsafe activities and concerns to the General Manager, safety officer, or human resources.
Required Experience
- 1 year experience in a similar role or including internship/co-op experience: Required
- Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Required
- Field of Study: Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology: Required
- Microsoft Office – Advanced: Required
- Strong knowledge of CAD Programs: Required
- Experience with statists and statistical analysis calculations and software: Preferred
- German / French language skills: Preferred
- Valid Drivers’ License (must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards): Required

Job Requirements
- Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
- Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
- Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%) domestically and internationally
Physical Requirements
- Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
- Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
- All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
