Facility Technician

Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for a Facility Technician at our manufacturing plant in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

The Facility Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks, in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc.). The Facility Technician orders and maintains operating supplies to enable the completion of a monthly Preventative Maintenance program, performs all preventative maintenance on facility and equipment per schedule, and must be able to set/unset building security.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains building HVAC system
• Performs scheduled work requests pertaining to the building and grounds
• Performs day to day repairs, emergency repairs, and daily Preventative Maintenance
• Assists in office moves, furniture moves and factory equipment moves
• Serves as back up in security procedures such as building lock up and opening
• Is comfortable working from height using scissor lift or boom lift, and is able to safely operate a forklift.
• Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks
• Assists with installation and modification of building equipment systems
• Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility
• Assist with removal of all cardboard, scrap, and debris from building if necessary
• Assist with maintenance of grounds and properties
• Assist with manufacturing equipment maintenance when required

Required Experience

• 2 plus years’ experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment:  Required
• 2 plus years’ experience with HVAC: Preferred
• 2 plus years. Experience driving a Forklift:  Preferred
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook): Preferred
• Valid Drivers’ License (must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards): Required

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
• Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%) domestically and internationally

Physical Requirements

• Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
• Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 100lbs
• All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
