Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for an experienced Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor at our manufacturing plant in Virginia Beach, Virginia! 

 

The Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for defining, planning, tracking and managing both the day-to- day operations and special projects related to maintenance and upkeep of buildings, surrounding grounds (including landscaping and parking areas), and any equipment therein. This employee is responsible for identifying key resources and providing the direction required for meeting project objectives and day-to-day operations requirements, and to ensure the facilities meet regulatory standards and codes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, prioritizes, and manages maintenance, repairs, housekeeping, and security activities.
  • Oversees special building projects.
  • Ensures all documentation for new equipment and building projects remains in order and up to date.
  • Maintains facility documents, drawings, warranties, etc.
  • Participates in annual planning and budgeting of significant special projects for the facility and its equipment.
  • Trains employees in relation to special project work.
  • Establishes and publishes clear priorities with respect to project activities.
  • Coordinates technical decisions in concert with stakeholders.
  • Prepares and monitors maintenance and facilities budgets.
  • Negotiates and liaises with third-party service providers.
  • Coordinates and/or supports factory layout changes including relocation of machinery.
  • Ensures facilities are in compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and building codes.
  • Conducts regular building inspections in concert with third-party providers and prepares reports.
  • Responds to inquiries and requests by building tenants and resolves any problems or issues.
  • Assists with facilities and maintenance day-to-day tasks as necessary.
  • Supports safety and environmental compliance initiatives as required.

 

 

Required Experience

  • 10+ years in building maintenance and operations, preferably of an industrial facility: Required
  • 5+ years in project management including vendor selection and management: Required
  • Experience in oversight of all major building systems including electrical, HVAC, air handling, and general services such as waste management: Required
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • Associate's Degree (two-year college or technical school) Field of Study: Technical such as Engineering or Construction: Preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook): Required
  • Microsoft Project Professional experience: Preferred
  • Valid Drivers, license must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch Insurance standards.

Job Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
    • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%) domestically and internationally

 

Physical Requirements

  • Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
  • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
  • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
