Busch Vacuum Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to join our 2025 Summer Internship Program in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role will provide valuable hands-on experience in PLC programming, electrical calculations, instrumentation, and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop PLC programs for Siemens PLC and HMI using Siemens TIA Portal under guidance.
- Assemble and configure an Electrical Engineering Test and Training unit.
- Conduct interviews and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for electrical engineering calculations, programming, and procedures.
- Assist in specifying and configuring VFDs, soft starters, and automation instrumentation.
Key Goals & Outcomes:
- Establish a Siemens S7-1200 programming library with at least two completed and verified programs.
- Deliver a fully functional Electrical Engineering test stand with operation documents and troubleshooting test scenarios.
- Create an Electrical Engineering SOP manual, including a structured table of contents and at least three completed procedures.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Experience or coursework in PLC and HMI programming.
- Knowledge of electrical controls, instrumentation, and motor control circuits.
- Strong technical writing and research skills.
- Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Education: Currently enrolled rising Junior or Senior pursuing a B.A./B.S. degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Freshman and Sophomore candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook).
- Personal Qualifications: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, strong communication skills, and a collaborative team player.
- Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen and a 7-year criminal history check.
- Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE

Physical Requirements
- Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
- Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
- All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
