CNC Machinist

Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for an experienced CNC Machinist I at our manufacturing plant in Virginia Beach, Virginia! 

The CNC Machinist I sets-up and runs multi-pallet CNC machines, control's the tool life management system, and completes inspection of parts and makes the necessary adjustments to tooling offsets. As operator, the CNC Machinist I is responsible for quality level of product's being produced and for the continual implementation of process improvements to eliminate waste and reduce costs is expected.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs visual inspection of parts before running.
• Makes a complete inspection of parts per process sheet.
• Checks all dimensions on process sheet using standard shop computations.
• Makes minor adjustments to tooling off sets.
• Uses measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, step Vernier's, dial indicators and bore gauges.
• Controls tool life management system.
• Trouble shoots machine and tooling issues.
• Schedules multi-pallet cells.
• Sets up and runs all jobs on multi-pallet cells. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Experience

• 2 years of experience operating CNC Machining equipment, including tool setting, gaging and measuring of machined parts, trouble-shooting Fanuc error codes (must be able to read g-code): Required
• Experience with CMM, Claw Grinders, Sand Blasting, Coating, Drill Presses, Deburring, and Cleaning stations: Preferred
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
• Basic Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word): Required
• Valid Drivers’ License (must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards): Required

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs
• Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 100lbs
• All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
