Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for a Buyer II at our head in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

 

The Buyer II is responsible for Request for Quotes (RFQ), processing Purchase Orders (POs) for standard and non-stock items and expediting back-orders on a selected commodity range, as assigned by the Director of Purchasing, which also includes processing requisitions, researching products, clarifying specifications, keying purchase orders into the computer systems, following up order confirmations delivery status and back-orders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the planning requirements and processes Purchase Orders for assigned commodities
  • Research products clarify specifications, send out request for quotations and distributes information
  • Select suppliers based on comparative pricing, past history, experience, internal direction, sole source, time factor, and vendor ability to meet the quality objectives
  • Process all aspects of Purchase Orders from initial request or requirement to approval of supplier invoices, process to include but no limited to; sourcing materials, selecting suppliers, verifying and negotiating pricing and delivery, following up delivery dates, backorders, receiving and or invoicing problems
  • Verify pricing in comparison to standards costs and maintains pricing by Supplier by item and Prices Books in computer system to include alternative suppliers when applicable.
  • Qualify and maintain contracts with suppliers, provide feedback regarding performance and cost initiatives
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding visits to the Busch facilities and visits to supplier facilities
  • Interface with quality control to maintain quality from approved suppliers
  • Work with receiving and Quality Assurance regarding any quality problems, repairs or return of product to the supplier for correction
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding credit, replacement or repair
  • Assist in special projects as assigned by the Purchasing Manager

 

Required Experience

  • Associate's Degree (two-year college or technical school, Field of Study- Business: Required
  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school), Field of Study- Business or Purchasing Logistics: Preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience in purchasing: Required
  • Experience in Governmental regulations and contract review management: Preferred
  • Knowledge of a variety of commodities, legal aspects of purchasing and basic regulations: Required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Required
  • Prior experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems: Preferred
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM): Preferred
  • Valid Drivers’ License (must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards): Required

Job Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
    • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%) domestically and internationally to include overnights

 

Physical Requirements

  • Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 5lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 15lbs
  • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
  • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
