Service Technician Level 2 - Gate Valve

Vac-Tech, a Busch Vacuum company, is a leading re-manufacturer of vacuum pumps and gate valves, for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.

Vac-Tech has an immediate direct-hire opportunity open for a Gate Valve Service Technician 2 at our service center in Phoenix, Arizona!  The work schedule is Monday - Friday 7am to 3:30pm shift. 

A Service Technician 2 rebuilds and tests gate valves for our remanufacturing process.  The primary responsibilities are to assemble the gate valve components, test and leak check the gate valves using specialty tools.

Job Responsibilities

• Assemble gate valves using various hand tools.
• Test and leak check gate valves using a helium leak checker.
• Perform preventive maintenance on shop equipment as part of the Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) program.
• Assemble crates and product packaging for shipping valves and parts, as needed.
• Work independently or as a team, as necessary, to fulfill department and Vac-Tech goals and objectives.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste as directed by Management.
• Perform processes and procedures while maintaining measurable and productive output as defined by production goals.
• Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures while reporting all unsafe activities and concerns to the supervisor, safety officer, or human resources.

Required Experience

• 2+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment: Preferred
• Experience using hand tools: Required
• Experience with leak check equipment: Preferred
• Mechanical experience or high mechanical aptitude: Required
• Assembly experience: Preferred
• Education: High School graduate or General Education Degree- Required
• Computer skills: Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software- Required

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, and misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must pass respirator fit test (annual retesting required)
  • Must be willing to maintain facial hair to a minimum for respirator fitment
• Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE

Physical Requirements

• • Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
  • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
  • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, hearing protection and respirator.
