Busch Vacuum Technics Inc., Canadian branch of the Busch Group, is currently looking for a Service Technician – MHV Specialist to join our Mississauga service team. The service technician will be expected to support a wide range of products related to “Medium and High Vacuum” technologies, primarily form the Pfeiffer brand, including Turbomolecular, Scroll, Multi-Stage Roots and Diaphragm pumps, as well as specialized instruments such as Helium Leak Detectors, Gas Analyzers and gauges.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
Repairs, maintenance and troubleshoot; in the workshop & in the field (80%)
• Assess equipment received and identify repairs to be carried out;
• Determine the parts required and estimate the time needed for the work;
• Prepare an assessment to submit to the supervisor for approval;
• Refurbish vacuum pumps and instruments: dismantle, clean the parts, and reassemble the pumps, making the necessary adjustments 
according to the specified tolerances;
• Respond to service calls, diagnose problems, propose solutions, and identify parts that need to be replaced;
• Perform various tests on re-assembled pumps, such as functional test, leak detection, vacuum performance and record the results;
• Use various specialized equipment such as industrial washing machines, hand tools, power tools, gauges, leak detectors, gas analyzers, controllers, etc.;

Learn the operation, troubleshooting, and calibration of vacuum measurement instruments.

Assist with the calibration and verification of vacuum gauges in accordance with established calibration procedures and quality requirements.

Support the preparation of calibration records and documentation while maintaining traceability and compliance with quality procedures.• Use the companies dedicated software platforms to record work times, required parts, test results, as well as to prepare customer assessment reports.
• Comply with ISO quality standards and internal processes

 

Support and collaboration (20%)
• Provide support to other technicians as needed;• Perform all other related tasks as requested by the supervisor;
• Be available, on occasion, for external or urgent service calls.

 

At all times:

  • Ensure that the workspace (Workshop, customer and vehicle) is clean, safe, and in accordance with established 
    standards;
  • Follow established safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE);
  • Promote and encourage a positive attitude for all team members;

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years experience, ideally in pump repair, ideally in vacuum field;

• Have worked with electronic controls and testing equipment;
• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) or equivalent experience in industrial mechanical or electromechanical;
• Experience in occasional external customer services repair (preferred);

• Strong aptitude for precision mechanical diagnosis and repair;

• Analytical mind, rigor, autonomy, and attention to detail;
• Team spirit, positive attitude, and sense of responsibility;
• Good priority management and ability to work on several projects at once.
