Busch in Liberec, Czech Republic is a manufacturing company established in 2015, currently employing around 100 people. The plant is specialized in small-series and customized production of vacuum pumps and systems, which help improve the world in industries such as food processing, healthcare, agriculture, engineering and more. Production Manager, plant Liberec

 

In short

As a Production Manager, you are responsible for the overall performance of manufacturing operations in your area. You ensure that production targets are met in terms of output, quality, delivery, and cost, while maintaining a safe and motivating work environment. You manage resources, lead multi-level teams, and cooperate across departments to align production capacity with customer demand. With a strong technical background in mechanical engineering, you drive process development, continuous improvement, and empower your teams to succeed. As a results-oriented leader with natural authority, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on mentality, you are able to balance daily operations with a strategic perspective.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive management of production of vacuum pumps and systems (machining, turning, assembly, painting, packaging).
  • Leading and developing teams in production, technology, and maintenance.
  • Organizing work mainly in a single-shift regime (some workplaces operate in three shifts).
  • Capacity and budget planning, ensuring efficient use of production resources.
  • Setting and monitoring KPIs (productivity, quality, delivery performance, efficiency).
  • Developing and motivating employees, creating an environment where people want to work, learn, and improve.
  • Active cooperation with other departments: purchasing, logistics, R&D, quality.
  • Ensuring compliance with work procedures, occupational safety, environmental and legal requirements.
  • Implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and problem-solving methods.
  • Monitoring new technologies and trends in engineering and introducing them into practice.
  • Identifying and managing production risks, preparing preventive measures.
  • Regular reporting of production results to company management.

 

Candidate Requirements

Technical and Professional Competencies:

  • University or secondary education in a technical field, ideally mechanical engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes (CNC machining knowledge is an advantage).
  • Proven experience in production and maintenance management.
  • Familiarity with quality and safety standards (ISO 9001, occupational health & safety).
  • Knowledge of ERP systems – SAP experience is an advantage.
  • Fluent Czech language (B2/C1) - for a daily communication.
  • Fluent English (B2/C1) – daily communication in an international environment.
  • Driving license, category B – active driver.

 

Methodical Competencies:

  • Strategic planning and production management.
  • Analytical thinking, ability to evaluate data and make fact-based decisions.
  • Experience with management through KPIs, SAP and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and project management methods.

 

Personal and Leadership Competencies:

  • Natural authority, ability to earn respect of both team and management.
  • Ability to unite people and create a collaborative, motivating atmosphere.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to cooperate across the company.
  • Proven experience in managing multi-level teams (foremen, supervisors, operators).
  • Stress resilience, decisiveness, and accountability.
  • Long-term ability to motivate and develop subordinates.
