Busch Vacuum LLC has a direct hire opportunity for a Service Center Manager at our service center in Houston, Texas!

 

A Busch Service Center Manager is responsible for planning and directing all service center activities in order to achieve the business goals of the Busch service center.  This includes but is not limited to management of the personnel and processes of the repair and re-manufacturing of vacuum furnaces and vacuum pumps in a world-class fashion, while safely meeting the targeted on-time delivery goals and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) measurements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure adherence to documented and approved procedures
  • Facilitate the process to determine failure mode analysis
  • Ensure the implementation of accurate transactional activities
  • Review and approve all Service employees' expense reports, attendance, and payroll
  • Ensure all training is completed per requirements or as directed, for example, safety, regulatory, legal, etc.
  • Establish, monitor, and manage leading indicator metrics for daily improvements
  • Implement world-class practices
  • Set clear guidelines for expected behaviors and clear methods for reporting inappropriate behavior, and address real or potential complaints quickly and effectively to incorporate Human Resources Department
  • Make timely decisions based on data, trends, technical and professional expertise
  • Ensure that the Service Center provides accurate, timely, efficient, and high-quality work to establish and maintain credibility with customers and employees
  • Provide support to Field Service, Service Technicians, internal employees, sales employees, and customers with technical assistance, as needed
  • Responsible for production performance in accordance with the Lean Seven step process
  • Train, motivate, and support staff in all areas of the company and departmental procedures and expectations
  • Coach and council employees on performance deficiencies and document as required
  • Prepare and administer daily performance feedback and reporting as required
  • Conduct effective and timely annual performance appraisals for your employees in accordance with specific departmental and corporate goals
  • Provide suggestions and maintain continual process improvements
  • Perform all administrative duties within the production area, including timekeeping, performance documentation, and training
  • Supervise, train, and coach production personnel, including responsibility for personnel and labor issues throughout the facility
  • The service center manager may direct the activities of assigned Field Service employees, as needed.

 

 

Required Experience

  • Associate Degree (two-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related degree: Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related degree: Preferred
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, prior experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management): Preferred
  • Certifications & Licenses: Six Sigma Black Belt certification (SSGI): Preferred; Certified Plant Engineer (CPE): Preferred

 

Personal Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in leading an Operations organization and Continuous Improvement Environment: Required
  • Experience managing in a lean industrial manufacturing or repair environment: Preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical/mechanical concepts and good mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of vacuum based equipment: Highly Preferred
  • Detail, safety and customer-oriented
  • Good decision making and problem-solving abilities
  • Good work values, ethics and integrity, and ability to influence your team to demonstrate the same

 

Job Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
    • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Must pass respirator fit test (annual retesting required)
    • Must be willing to maintain facial hair to a minimum for respirator fitment
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE

Physical Requirements

    • Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
    • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
    • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
    • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
