VESCO has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for a Senior Field Service Engineer position to be based out of our East Windsor, Connecticut service center!  Applicants must possess a valid drivers’ license and be able to travel within the designated region up to 100% of the time.  When not working at a customer site, this position will report to our service center, thus residency in the East Windsor area is required.

 

The Senior Field Service Engineer installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and maintains the systems at end-user customer locations and will assist in providing training to other field service team members.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform field service support, including installations and start-up, sustaining and preventive maintenance, and modifications to vacuum furnaces, vacuum pumps, systems, controls, PLCs, and drives
  •    Perform advanced field service repair, to vacuum furnace, vacuum pumps, and systems; including modifications to equipment at customer sites
  • Provide field support for electrical troubleshooting, in conjunction with systems and engineering teams
  • Perform field service preventive maintenance, when needed
  • Perform equipment health check: check base pressure, pumping speed, and test other vital components to ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct advanced warranty evaluations, for vacuum system application and process as well as mechanical and minor electrical or control panel troubleshooting; submit all warranty-related service reports and documentation
  • Perform on-site equipment startup and operator training for pumps and systems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of rotating equipment as follows:
    • Start / Stop rotating equipment and furnaces.
    • Using display module - access vital data (setpoints, event logs, error codes etc.)
    • Set up equipment temperature, purge flows, and other essential items to manufacturer’s specification,
    • Identify name and know function of major component (sensors, motors, gas systems, etc.)
    • Configure furnace and pump parameters (model, warning setpoint, alarm setpoint, etc.) for new installation,
    • Diagnose of root problem and making necessary repairs,
  • Fulfill field service safety requirements including safety training, safety certifications and maintain safety equipment / tooling as instructed
  • Relay customer issues, problems, and complaints to Service Manager and/or Technical Support Team; expediting critical issues as deemed necessary
  • Accurate completion and submission of all necessary documentation and reports for assigned field activities, utilizing Busch approved programs and software within the timeline set forth by management
  • Relay pricing information on parts, service support or new equipment to customers when requested
  • Develop mutually beneficial business relationships with end user customers to maintain, grow and promote the company after sale parts, products and service(s) business
  • Be able to travel to customer site on short notice (as required)

 

Required Experience

  • 8-10 years of experience performing preventive maintenance work and troubleshooting on rotational equipment in an Industrial or Technical equipment field service-related position: Required
  • Experience with PLCs and Variable Speed Drives: Preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude: Required
  • Electrical knowledge: Preferred
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge and use of a laptop, basic applications, Microsoft applications such as Office and Excel: Required
  • Certifications & Licenses: Must maintain a valid Driver's license that meets Busch insurance standards

Job Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to pass a 9-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Must pass respirator fit test (annual retesting required)
    • Must be willing to maintain facial hair to a minimum for respirator fitment
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
  • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License that meets Busch insurance standards
  • Physical Requirements
    • Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
    • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
    • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 100lbs
    • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
