KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a neat and clean workspace at all times. 
  • Coordinate workshop activities (work in progress, customer support and operations) to assure optimal customer service.  
  • Assess the work to be done on equipment designated for repairs, identify customer requirements and plan execution 
  • Review work orders and take appropriate action when needed 
  • Respect and execution of all procedures and norms established (ISO 9001-2008) 
  • Answer service calls from existing and potential customers. Assist with all technical questions and emergency service calls. 
  • Carry out, personally, repairs on both complicated equipment and/or on regular equipment. 
  • Inventory: provide needed support to Inventory Supervisor to help manage and control  
  • Shipping and receiving activities: stock transfers, incoming pumps 
  • Coordinate and plan service calls and assure follow-up with customer when needed 
  • Assist/plan the timetable pertaining to service contracts and assure a follow-up on their completion. 
  • May, at times, answer emergency calls, traveling to customer locations to find solutions to the problems identified at any time of the day or week. 
  • Building maintenance: coordinate actions to maintain building in good conditions 

 

HR management responsabilities:

  • Direct supervision of all service employees (technicians, admins, helpers) 
  • Make sure all understand their role and participate/grow in the company 
  • Responsible for time/vacation management (with Regional Sales Manager) 
  • Responsible to perform employee’s yearly appraisal: Set objectives for each individual 
  • Review of objectives and provide regular feedback and action plan (min. 3 times/year) 

 

This job description may include the following additional responsibilities: 

  • Encourage and maintain a positive attitude for all team members 
  • Budget preparation for the service department 
  • Carry out any other tasks and take on any other responsibilities that the immediate supervisor may assign on occasion. 

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • A vocational school diploma in Industrial Mechanics 
  • Six to eight years’ experience, ideally in an industrial environment where pumps are 
  • repaired/serviced (including some as team leader/supervisor) 

 

OTHER SKILLS

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) 
  • Functional second language proficiency where required. 
  • Capacity to coordinate/supervise the work of other people. 
  • Analytical thinking, team work, sociability and a keen sense of responsibility
