Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.
Busch Vacuum Solutions is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at our U.S. headquarters in Virginia Beach, VA!
In this role, you will develop technical solutions for client applications, ensure designs are executed effectively, and collaborate closely with Project Managers, Mechanical and Electrical Designers, and Sales teams. You will apply engineering best practices to moderate vacuum and over-pressure applications while supporting the growth and success of our global organization.
This position follows a Monday–Friday onsite schedule, with standard office hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Job Responsibilities
- Evaluates technical inquires or quotation requests, obtain all necessary required missing information
- Designs proposed vacuum system to meet the customer's requirements, calculating gas flows, pressure drops and heat load requirements
- Selects and specify all components that need to be quoted
- Prepares and keyboard technical equipment specifications of the proposed vacuum system solution as per standard business practices
- Interfaces with customer and field personnel, on the phone and in person, providing information on equipment operation, data and drawings
- Checks all pump and system orders for accuracy and agreement with the quotation
- Be the technical point of contact for assigned quotations or projects
- Proactively ensures all technical matters are addressed in a manner that is in keeping with the customer's or departmental timeline
- Works with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics
- Reads, analyzes and interprets common scientific and technical, financial and legal documents
- Applies engineering concepts, calculates, designs, quotes and specifies vacuum systems
- Collaborates with all Engineering department and intra-departmental personnel to ensure final design meets customer requirements
- In conjunction with the Agile teams develop and/or promote technical solutions which support the business requirements within their area of expertise. They may be accountable for specific deliverables and profitability in relation to the development of a project, support or may lead the technical activity within their area of specialism
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field preferred): Required
- 6 plus months of experience in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering field: Required
- Proven technical aptitude with the ability to design, evaluate, and implement engineering solutions
- Experience with B2B technical environments, sales support, or project coordination is a plus!
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM systems
- Familiarity with ERP systems, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD software is highly desirable
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical specifications, drawings, and engineering documentation

Job Requirements
- Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
- Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
- Willingness to travel domestically for training
- Valid Drivers’ License must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards
- Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and manual tasks.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
