We currently have an exciting direct-hire opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Manager at our U.S. headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia!
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies with a strong emphasis on supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance management. This role plays a critical part in capital expenditure (CAPEX) procurement and strategic sourcing initiatives that ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, risk mitigation, and supplier alignment with organizational goals. This position will lead cross-functional sourcing efforts, support project procurement needs, and drive continuous improvement in supplier relationships, compliance, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
Targeted Compensation: The targeted compensation range for this position is $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 annually with bonus potential, depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop and lead sourcing strategies for CAPEX and indirect procurement categories.
- Manage full-cycle supplier onboarding process: screening, qualification, documentation, approval, and risk evaluation.
- Establish and maintain supplier master data, certifications, NDAs, contracts, and performance KPIs.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Legal, and Operations on new supplier introductions and project-specific needs.
- Lead RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for strategic purchases, including CAPEX equipment, tooling, and large-scale service contracts.
- Evaluate suppliers based on capability, cost, quality, compliance, and capacity; make award decisions and recommendations.
- Partner with finance and leadership to build capital project budgets, ensure compliance with procurement policy, and monitor spend performance.
- Develop and maintain supplier performance scorecards and lead business reviews with key vendors.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard alternative or backup suppliers to ensure supply continuity and reduce risk.
- Lead contract negotiations for price, delivery terms, service levels, and commercial conditions.
- Monitor and report on sourcing KPIs, savings, and risk mitigation metrics.
- Support internal audits and ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes, systems, and supplier engagement.
- Ariba module lead
- Supervisor external procurement team (3rd part).
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field), Master’s degree preferred (MBA, MS Supply Chain, or similar) with seven plus (7+) years of planning or purchasing experience required, two or more (2+) years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience required.
- Experience in onboarding and managing suppliers across global regions.
- Direct experience with capital equipment sourcing and large project procurement.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with e-sourcing tools and supplier management platforms preferred.
- CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) preferred.
- CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) preferred.
- Six Sigma, Lean, or Project Management certification is a plus

- Demonstrated project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of procurement compliance, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
- Proactive, results-oriented self-starter who identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
- Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 10% as business needs require
- Valid Drivers’ License must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards
- Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
