Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate, direct-hire opportunity open for a Technical Support Administrator at our service center in Virginia Beach, Virginia! The work schedule is M-F 730-430.
The Service Technical Administrator is responsible for technical/mechanical support to service centers and for maintaining necessary files and supporting documentation, including service reference materials and estimate sheets. This is not an information technology (IT) position.

Job Responsibilities
- Daily interaction with external and internal customers to provide basic mechanical/technical support for our industrial equipment
- Maintain service Item Master and manufactured Bill of Material's (BOM's) and recommend stocking levels.
- Act as a liaison between Service Center Managers and Busch manufacturing facilities for recommended spare parts and kits.
- Assist Production Planner/Expediter for accuracy on service activities relating to MSOs, Proposals, and Estimate Sheets.
- Support Service Administrative Assistant with all ERP suites related to invoicing, entering parts, and open orders.
- Work with Rapid Response Service Technician to help coordinate resolution to customer pump related issues.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives.
- Assist with the implementing and maintaining of Continuous Improvement (5S) and Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste.
- Coordinate problem solving and maintain effective communication between departments.
- Perform required departmental paperwork duties to support product flow through Industrial Service Centers.
- Investigate and convert, as necessary, No Longer Available (NLA), No Longer Purchased (NLP), No Longer Used (NLU), obsolete, and previous version 8-digit items - revise affected files and communicate as necessary.
- Create, review for accuracy, and maintain items used in service.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining technical data used in service.
- Recommend spare parts for anomaly and slow-moving WIP (20% of 80/20 rule).
- Assist with creating, maintaining, and training for standardized service technician training.
- Provide technical assistance to service facilities and customers as needed.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by Service Operations Manager.
Required Experience
- 2 plus years of experience in parts and bills of materials (BOMS): Required
- Ability to investigate issues for root cause determination.
- Associate degree (two-year college or technical school): Preferred
- Field of Study: Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related: Preferred
- Computer skills: Intermediate knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems: Preferred
Personal Qualifications
- Must be detail, safety and customer-oriented
- Must have a high mechanical/technical aptitude and the ability to learn complex mechanical/technical equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge is highly preferred
- Must be very organized, have sound decision-making ability, and display good judgment
- Must possess the ability to provide guidance and feedback to others to help strengthen specific skills and knowledge and have the ability to influence others.
- Must have excellent listening and oral and written English communication skills
Job Requirements
- Ability and willingness to pass a 9-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
- Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
- May travel up to 25% of the time
Physical Requirements
- Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
- Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
- All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
