We have an immediate direct-hire opportunity for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at our manufacturing plant in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

 

The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer leads and ensures supplier quality performance for parts, components, and systems in compliance with Busch Global Standards and ISO 9001:2015 requirements. This role oversees critical supplier development projects, supplier audits, quality risk assessments, and supplier performance metrics.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier qualification and development activities, working with suppliers to implement manufacturing, process, and quality controls.
  • Evaluate, audit, and approve new suppliers to ensure compliance with Busch standards.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and monitor improvement plans.
  • Escalate and follow up on supplier nonconformities to ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update the critical supplier audit schedule and related documentation.
  • Travel to supplier locations as needed to resolve quality issues.
  • Mentor and guide Supplier Quality Engineers, providing training and sharing best practices on Busch Quality System Methodologies (QSM).
  • Represent Supplier Quality in cross-functional teams, program launches, design reviews, and engineering change initiatives.
  • Maintain supplier quality dashboards and track KPIs.
  • Benchmark and implement best practices to standardize supplier quality approaches.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 


Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field: Preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment: Required.
  • 3+ years of experience working with metal castings: Preferred.
  • Experience in Supplier Quality Engineering in the automotive or equivalent industry: Preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality methodologies such as 8D, Lean, 5 Why’s, DFMEA, PPAP: Preferred.
  • Strong understanding of audit processes and ISO 9001 standards: Preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications: Required.
  • Experience with ERP systems: Required.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE): Preferred.
  • ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 Internal Auditor certification: Preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license that meets Busch insurance standards: Required.

Job Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
    • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally, including overnight travel.
  • Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above shoulder height, and lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to hear and see alarms and wear all required PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, electrical hazard protection, and hearing protection.
