We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Supervisor – Indirect Material, MRO, & CAPEX to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is a direct hire opportunity for a strategic and driven professional who is passionate about procurement excellence and delivering value across the organization.
The Purchasing Supervisor will be responsible for developing deep technical expertise and market intelligence within their areas of spend, including indirect materials, MRO, professional services, and CAPEX. By leveraging this market insight and advanced procurement skills, you will create meaningful value for key stakeholders and The Busch Group as a whole.
You will lead end-to-end procurement processes while ensuring supplier relationships are appropriately vetted, risks are effectively managed, and contracts are compliant with company policy. This position supports Busch manufacturing sites in Virginia Beach, VA and Yreka, CA, and works closely with Busch Group Sales & Service Center locations across the U.S. to identify and capitalize on opportunities to leverage supplier negotiations and spending power.

Job Responsibilities
- The ability to establish and manage positive stakeholder relationships is a key success.
- Excellent project management skills with proven ability to successfully manage high level projects with a scope across the entire value chain.
- Able to work independently, managing initiatives through successful completion.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders within the Busch Group to lead and/or execute sourcing projects.
- Leads cost-saving initiatives through negotiation, value engineering, and continuous process improvements.
- Solicit quotations from current and new suppliers. Verifies current drawing revisions and/or Statements of Work (SOW) are sent to suppliers and coordinates resolution of any technical questions between the supplier and Engineering/Quality and other requisitioning departments.
- Monitor market trends and indexes that affect commodity prices and availability. Analyze pricing trends and understand cost structures to effectively prepare for supplier negotiations.
- Coordinates with Global Lead Buyers to provide input in developing global commodity strategies, rationalizing the global supply base to maximize the Bush Group’s Procurement leverage. Identify and mitigate supply chain, price, and currency risks.
- Development of supply agreements, strategic pricing, inventory and delivery plans with major suppliers.
- Negotiates and resolves commercial issues with suppliers.
- Coordinates with the Quality Department to ensure supplier resolution to quality issues.
- Develops new suppliers as needed to meet Busch Group supplier standards for quality, cost, delivery and partnership.
- Maintains contact with suppliers, provides feedback regarding performance and cost initiatives. Coordinates with suppliers regarding visits to the Busch Group facilities and visits to supplier facilities.
- Assists Procurement Buyers in resolving more complex tasks.
- Follows Global Sourcing and Busch Group processes and procedures regarding the above responsibilities and aids in the development of internal continuous process improvements.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or technical school): Required
- Field of Study in Business or Supply Chain Management: Preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of purchasing experience including Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, and Spend Analytics: Required
- Experience leading contract negotiations, supplier management, and cost reduction strategies in Indirect Materials, MRO, CAPEX, and Professional Services: Required
- Moderate to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and V-lookup functions) and Microsoft Word: Required
- Experience with SAP ERP and ARIBA systems: Required
- PowerPoint and ERP system experience: Preferred
- CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management – ISM): Preferred
- CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management – ASCM): Preferred
- Awareness/understanding of legal aspects of business and purchasing ethics: Preferred
- Basic understanding of various components/commodities: Preferred
- Experience negotiating with vendors and reducing purchase prices: Required
- Valid Driver’s License (must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards): Required

Job Requirements
- Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
- Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
- Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally, including occasional overnight stays
Physical Requirements
- Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 5lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
- Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
- All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
