Parts Cleaner

Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.

We have an exciting contract to hire opportunity open for a Machine Shop Parts Cleaner at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

The Parts Cleaner is responsible for general labor duties such as cleaning and removing burrs and chips from machined parts and transferring parts at production lines.

This is a 2nd shift position, Monday–Friday, 7:00 PM – 3:30 AM.

Employees will train on 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, for a 4–6 week duration, with possible deviations based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Reviews route and process sheets for instructions
• Inspects parts for visual defects
• Removes excess burrs, chips and casing sand from machined parts
• Loads and unloads parts in parts washer
• Applies rust inhibitor on all cast iron and steel parts
• Conducts final part count, check paperwork for errors and ensure tags are properly filled out
• Packages part in suitable manner so they can be transported without damage
• Conducts cleaning and routine maintenance while maintaining water level on a daily basis
• Implementation of process improvements to eliminate waste and reduce costs

Required Experience

• 1+ years in Warehouse Material Handling: Preferred
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office: Required
• Valid Drivers, license must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch Insurance standards.

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
• Ability and willingness to travel (up to 5%) domestically for training purposes.
• Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Physical Requirements

• Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
• Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
• All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
