Painter/Coater - 2nd Shift

Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.

We are currently seeking a Painter/Coater to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is a direct hire opportunity offering long-term stability and growth.

The Painter/Coater is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paints, coatings, or sealants to metal. This position ensures proper surface preparation, mixing of materials, and application techniques to achieve a high-quality finish and long-lasting protection.

Job Responsibilities 

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, or blasting as required.
• Mix and apply paints and coatings.
• Inspect surfaces for proper preparation and finish quality.
• Read and interpret technical data sheets, work instructions, and work orders.
• Operate and maintain painting and coating equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Document work completed and report any issues or defects.
• Assist with inventory of paint supplies and request materials when needed.
• Work with other departments to meet production or project deadlines.

Required Experience

• 1 year of experience in a machine shop or machining facility: Required
• Proven experience in painting, coating, or a similar role: Required
• Knowledge of various painting and coating techniques and ability to operate spray guns, paint booths, and related tools: Required
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices: Required
• Good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team: Required
• High School Diploma or GED: Required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word): Preferred

• Must be organized and maintain a clean and orderly workspace
• Must possess a positive attitude, be dependable, and trustworthy
• Work independently or as a team, as necessary, to fulfill department and Busch goals and objectives
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
• Willingness to travel domestically for training
• Valid Drivers’ License must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards

Physical Requirements

• Frequent reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
• Constant standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
• Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
• All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
