We have an immediate opportunity available for an Assembly Technician in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The work schedule is M-F, 7 am-330 pm.

The Assembly Technician will assemble Pfeiffer Vacuum standard instrumentation and/or custom integrated systems.

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Assemble equipment and machines using engineering drawings.
  • Follow basic instructions and directions.
  • Perform basic wiring from drawings or instruction provided.
  • Use engineering drawings to determine the best way to assemble equipment.
  • Troubleshoot potential issues before and while building the machines.
  • Make changes to assemblies as required during building process.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics, both hydraulic and pneumatic.
  • Work directly with engineering to suggest design or component changes necessary for assembly.
  • Design and implement electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic changes and document them.
  • Test assemblies and functionality of assemblies.

Required Experience & Personal Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, extreme attention to detail and creative problem solving and process planning are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under tight and frequently changing deadlines in a dynamic business environment is necessary.
  • High mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read drawings, blueprints and schematics.
  • Understands basic mechanical principles and can determine correct tool or procedure to assemble components.
  • Good reasoning ability and ability to follow work assignments from routine to semi-routine and have the ability to recognize deviations from accepted work practices. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to balance multiple tasks and any stress associated with the duties and responsibilities of this position are essential requirements in the performance of this job.

Physical Requirements

Job Requirements 

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability and willingness to pass a 9-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check 
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis 
  • Must pass respirator fit test (annual retesting required) 
  • Must be willing to maintain facial hair to a minimum for respirator fitment 
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE 
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without company sponsorship, as we do not sponsor Visas. 

Physical Requirements

  • This position will work in a warehouse/service center. Indoor and climate controlled industrial environment.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, and occasional lifting. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and move intermittently throughout the day. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, presentations and data-entry), attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication skills including listening and speaking are required for interaction with other employees, vendors, and customers.
